Merch Girl will feature the artists that Abbie has grown up with, using studio tracks as well as live recordings.  Just as Merch Girl tracks Abbie’s journey into adulthood, we will also get an insider’s glimpse into the ups and downs of life as a working musician.  

John Evans, Abbie’s father, surrounds himself with talented musicians from across the State.  They have all watched Abbie grow up and are as much a part of her family as her parents. Thus we will include music from his colleague and girlfriend, Emily Bell.

John Evans is much more than a performer.   He is a writer and a producer, who has worked with some of the most talented musicians in Texas. With music born on the bayous of Houston and injected with influences from the Mississippi Delta to Bakersfield to the boroughs of New York City, John Evans and his Rockabilly Band have taken over his hometown (and the whole Lone Star State!) by dominating the Houston Press Music Awards over the last decade. John boasts six wins for Best Male Vocalist, four for Best Songwriter, and a pair for both Best Roots Rock and Musician of the Year. You won’t hear him boast, though. He’s as humble as they come, and the most personable performer on the road, making each and every audience member feel like a family member.
